How We Started
The Pinnacle Story
Robbie previously owned a construction company that averaged 60+ renovations and 10 new construction projects per year. You can imagine the stress—and lack of sleep—that came along with such a large company! He decided to sell the company—to three of the employees, how cool!—and start Pinnacle, a smaller company focusing on 3–5 large scale projects per year. Darrin joined as a co-owner and took over the role of project management. As an expert in all things construction—and one of the coolest guys you’ll ever meet—joining Robbie as a co-owner was a no brainer. As for Janelle, she was a contract designer for both the previous company and Pinnacle. After becoming a critical part of the team, the guys asked her to be a third partner in their venture. (She’s also one of the coolest ladies you’ll ever meet…ok, ok, so is Robbie!)

Structural Engineer
Robbie has been part of the industry since he was a sophomore in high school. As a structural engineer from NDSU, he’s been engineering for 15+ years and building/remodeling homes for 10+ years. He enjoys working through designs and plans to come up with a good solution for each client’s unique needs. Problem solving, coming up with ideas and solutions, and being creative enable things to be done how they should be done–or making them better! In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids.

Project Manager
Darrin helped his dad as a brick-layer every summer starting in eighth grade and developed a knack for construction. Following his time in the marine corps, he started his career in the industry and has over 25 years of construction experience. His favorite aspect of building and remodeling is seeing the smile on clients’ faces when the keys are handed over for the first time. When he’s not building, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids.

Janelle is a U of MN grad and proud Gopher Fan, the mother of two amazing boys that keep her hopping, and truthfully, a total home & garden junky. She’s the dork that walks into a restaurant, store, or anywhere and goes crazy if they have cool architectural details.
In her spare time (ha!), you can typically find her at a sporting event cheering her boys on, spending time with friends and family, OR teaching a spin class at her local gym. Life is short, and she puts every minute of it to good use!
